Annual Thanksgiving Meal

ECCAO is pleased to continue its tradition by contributing to The Ottawa Mission benevolent work helping the needy in Ottawa.

As with previous years, we are contributing in two ways, 1) by collecting donations to The Ottawa Mission, and 2) by volunteering to serve food at the Thanksgiving Day, on Monday, October 14, 2019.

This activity is led by Dr. Mervat El-Tair and Khaled Badawi.

The Ottawa Mission is a shelter for homeless, it serves an average of 1,295 meals every day, and more than double that on holidays – that’s a total of close to 473,000 meals a year.

Here is how you can participate:

1- Donation:
Over the years, our community has been very generous with The Ottawa Mission. We are reaching out to you to support our effort this year by raising funds to The Ottawa Mission. Tax receipts will be issued for donations over $20. To donate, please write a check payable to ‘The Ottawa Mission’ to Dr. Mervat El-Tair by Friday October 4, 2019 , to the following address:

2- Volunteering:
ECCAO has already signed us up for 15 spots confirmed with a request to increase them to 20 spots; the ECCAO team of volunteers will be serving food during the shift on Mon, Oct 14th. If you are interested in volunteering, please RVSP by filling in the form below, by Friday October 4, 2019. Remember the number is limited, the volunteer list will be set on a first come first served basis with a waiting list.
