CANCELLED – Beach Day Use at SandBanks

Unfortunately we had to cancel this event. The forecast for Sunday is 29 °C with a strong thunderstorm that can bring flash flooding and damaging winds.

Everyday should be a beach day! Said the wise lady. Bring your smile, family and friends to join ECCAO to the fabulous Sandbanks beach where we will have fun, eat, swim and enjoy each other’s company.

LOCATION
Sandbanks Provincial Park
We will be at Dunes Shelter in the Day Use Facilities area. (Reservation by Peter)

Day use vehicle permits required:
Daily vehicle permits must be purchased for your vehicle upon arrival OR five days in advance to guarantee your spot at the park via https://reservations.ontarioparks.com/ (under Day Use tab, Daily Vehicle Permit (DVP), Sandbanks Provincial Park)

Car pooling:
If you can offer a ride or need a ride, please fill this form https://forms.gle/aj1FokwxookEM6sD9 . This is a volunteering effort so no guarantee to getting a ride. We will try our best!

WHAT TO EXPECT
Sandbanks is a highly ranked beach in ON and known for its sandy beach. It has a swimming zone, and is backed by a tree-dotted area with a snack bar & playground. Rental for canoes, kayaks and standup paddle boards is available and fishing is allowed. For more information, visit https://www.ontarioparks.com/park/sandbanks

PROGRAM
~ Around 8am or depending on your location, take the road to SandBanks Beach
– 11:30am Vehicle permit & meet at location
– 11:30am Food, water activities and entertainment
– 06:00pm Return home

FOOD & DRINKS
-Bring your own lunch, dinner, and snacks.
* Propane camp stove allowed (in the parking lot only), charcoal not allowed
-ECCAO will provide cold water bottles and soda cans for $1 each. Please bring exact change.

WHAT TO BRING
-Your smile 😀
-A chair, tarp or blanket to sit on
-Board games and beach games
-Swimming suit
-Hat
-Sunscreen and insect repellent
-Mask (may be required in the washroom)

HEALTH PRECAUTIONS
If you feel sick, you are not to attend the event.
