In 2019, the Province of Ontario officially declared July as Egyptian Heritage Month, recognizing the rich history, culture, and enduring contributions of Egyptian Canadians to the fabric of Ontario’s society. This landmark declaration is a tribute to the legacy of one of the world’s oldest civilizations and its living heritage carried by generations of Egyptian Canadians.

As part of this province-wide celebration, ECCAO is proud to present a vibrant and inclusive local program that brings Egyptian Heritage Month to life in the Nation’s Capital.

Throughout July, ECCAO invites the Ottawa-Gatineau community to join us in celebrating the depth, beauty, and diversity of Egyptian culture through a rich calendar of events. From museum tours and traditional performances to storytelling, film, and interactive workshops, our activities are designed to engage all ages, fostering cross-cultural dialogue and a deeper appreciation of Egypt’s legacy and its modern expressions.
