Amany Alhadka

Amany Alhadka comes to ECCAO with over 25 years of experience in the nonprofit sector. She has a proven track record in finance and operations, and has played key roles in multiple global organizations. Amany’s journey with ECCAO begain in 2017, holding various leadership positions. Her passion for community engagement and diversity shines through her work!

Maha Gawdat

Maha Gawdat

Maha Gawdat is a dedicated community leader With a deep commitment to child development. A pillar of ECCAO, she has served as Vice President in multiple terms – playing a key role in strengthening community engagement. Maha is eager to continue her work in preserving and promoting Egyptian culture!

Ali Salaheddin

Ali Salaheddin joins the ECCAO board in the role of secretary. He is a software developer and a long-time Ottawa resident who is passionate about promoting Egyptian heritage and culture. He looks forward to charting a shared path forward with you all!

Norine Awadallah

Norine Awadallah has called Canada home for over 15 years, yet she unapologetically takes pride in her Egyptian roots. As a CPA, CA, she brings a strong financial background and a passion for strategic planning. Norine is excited to serve as the treasurer, using her expertise to support ECCAO’s success.

Rehab Alsayad

Rehab Alsayad is a University Professor of English Language and Literature. As the Cultural Director in 2024, she founded the ECCAO Arts Academy and Choir, fostering creativity for all ages and revitalizing the artistic life of Egyptians in Canada. Her vision this year focuses on enhancing cultural presence through creative activities!

Dahlia Nawwar

Dahlia Nawwar is a 2nd-generation Egyptian-Canadian who previously served on the Board for 3 terms. With a deep appreciation for Egyptian culture, Dahlia aims to organize events that positively represent Egyptians. Dahlia is eager to hear ideas from community members to ensure collaborative continuance!

Ahmed Omara

Ahmed Omara holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Ottawa and currently works at the Government of Canada. In 2019, he served as the Cultural Director on the board of ECCAO. He looks forward to bringing in younger generations!

Injie Swailam

Injie Swailam is an experienced program manager and policy analyst dedicated to building strategic partnerships. In her role at ECCAO, she focuses on creating meaningful collaborations, promoting cultural activities, and driving initiatives that celebrate and strengthen our Egyptian-Canadian indentity!

Rawan Abdou

Rawan Abdou brings a wealth of experience from her time at Carleton University, where she served as ESA’s Social Media Manager and later as president in 2020. Passionate about connecting with younger generations, Rawan is eager to drive stronger engagement and foster a vibrant online community!
