To become a member of ECCAO, ( Click Here ) to fill in the ECCAO membership application form, then hand it to one of the ECCAO board members, or send it by mail to address at the top of the form along with the payment.

There are different types of membership:

Any person, eighteen (18) years of age or older, of Egyptian descent, who is a permanent resident in Canada, or his or her spouse. Only Regular Members in good standing shall have the right to vote at any meeting, or to hold any office.

Any person, eighteen (18) years of age or older, of Egyptian descent and who is a full-time student in Canada.

Any person, eighteen (18) years of age or older, who is interested in furthering the aims of ECCAO.
Any member of the Egyptian Diplomatic Corps shall be eligible to apply for and be admitted as an ASSOCIATE MEMBER, during his posting in Canada.

Any person, who has offered distinguished service towards the aims of ECCAO, may be nominated by the Board of Directors, in consultation with the Advisory Committee. The membership becomes effective after ratification by the general body.

Persons qualifying for regular membership, their spouses, and their children having the same permanent address, shall be eligible to apply for and receive status. Only the parents in a Family Membership are deemed Regular Members.

Membership shall be granted by the filing of a written application form provided by ECCAO, subject to the approval of the Board of Directors, and by payment of dues as stated in the by-laws.

The Egyptian Canadian Cultural Association of Ottawa ECCAO was incorporated in 1984, and it is being governed by its constitution. The constitution was revised and updated in 2009 ( Click Here ) to read the latest revised version of the ECCAO Constitution.
